Video: How to fit flooring under door casings and jams

We have encountered many challenges during our recent epic flooring project. But the one I feared the most was getting our new, 3/4″ solid wood flooring to fit under our door casings and jams. The wood is thicker than the previous flooring, meaning all the casings and jams needed trimmed to fit the new flooring underneath them.

Thankfully, this turned out to be a fairly easy endeavor due to a handy tool I found out about at the Haven Conference. Below is a short video where I demonstrate how you can trim door casings and jams to fit flooring like hardwood and tile. I’m using the Ryobi 18V JobPlus™ (multi-tool attachment) to make all my cuts.

Special thanks to the folks at Ryobi Tools who let me try out the multi-tool for our flooring project. It made at least one portion of this project easy. 🙂 I’ll be sharing more floor progress soon, so stay tuned.
