Spring front porch decor (plus a flower pot redo)

Despite the rain, rain and more rain we’ve been getting, I figured it was time to spruce up the front porch after our long winter. So I ditched the snowman decor in favor of some spring greenery.

I’m not really wild about the basket concoction I hung on the door. But I am still totally in love with the “new” front door I painted using this faux wood grain technique. I also love how my porch light really pops now that I repainted it copper.

Speaking of painting things copper, I used the same Modern Masters Copper Penny paint to update this tired-looking flower pot:

I primed it black first.

Then I gave it two coats of copper paint. I love that this paint is low-odor so I can comfortably use it indoors. I should have added a protective topcoat, too, but I was in a hurry, so I’ll do that later. 🙂

I’ll probably end up replanting the shrub somewhere in the yard and adding different flowers to the pot (the purple ones are silk). Right now, it’s slim pickins’ in the garden department at Walmart.

I was tickled to find the porch rug for $16.99 at Ross recently. It goes perfectly with my chair pillows.

Although I didn’t make a lot of changes for my spring front porch decor, it is nice to pull into the driveway and see a fresh, clean entrance ready for guests.

Love the look of your porch, and really am impressed with the pop that this door must have. Great job, wish I had your sense of color!

What is the flower pot made from?

Very pretty! Perhaps you would like the pretty door basket better if it was a little lower?

Great job I’m loving the gold look, you always see black and white flower urns but this is so different. I just repainted everything on my back porch white to brighten the place up a bit, but now you’ve inspired me to do my front porch as well even though we don’t ever spend any time on it lol. I’ll still dress it up cosmetically it’s so fun. You’re house looks beautiful sis!
