An organized (and pretty) desk drawer
I recently shared with you how I finally – and literally – got off the couch and created a makeshift office space in my living room so I could take this whole business of blogging up a professional notch.
The only problem? The desk I’m now using has but one drawer, so it has become important for me to strategically organize it.
I started with a set of white, plastic desk drawer organizers I found collecting dust in a closet. They haven’t been used in years. Then I added some cute, trendy chevron-striped scrapbook paper to the base of each compartment.
I simply cut the paper to fit the bottoms and used a glue stick to adhere it. I took the leftover pieces and covered the bottom of the desk drawer. The scrapbook paper came from Hobby Lobby. I talk about my obsession with that amazing store here.
Overall, I think it took me about an hour to completely “prettify” and organize my lone desk drawer. The cost? Two dollars worth of scrapbook paper.
Now I have a designated spot for my writing utensils, notebook, label maker, tech gadgets and cords, stapler/staples/remover, scissors, rubber bands and paper clips. I guess that means I have to step up the productivity a notch, huh?
I will say I definitely work much faster and more efficiently at my real desk as opposed to my couch. ๐
Do you have any tips for organizing your desk/office space to maximize work output?
