Master bath redo: Phase 1 done

Hello friends! Today I wanted to show you the progress on the master bathroom renovation project.

This is what our bathroom looked like when we purchased our home in 2010:

Since then, we painted it a silvery-blue color (Sherwin Williams Samovar Silver), which was OK, but I was never in love with it.

Recently, I decided to upgrade the space again, this time giving the bathroom a bit of a lake theme. Here was the mood board I created as a foundation for the look I wanted to create:

Here’s what the space looks like now:

The new color on the walls is Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige. This is a color I’ve used at the left-behind ranch, in my laundry room, and in our church fellowship hall. It’s a wonderful neutral greige (gray+beige) color that works well in rooms with daylight light bulbs or natural light filtering into the space.

The rug is from Overstock.com. The LAKE sign on the wall was DIYed by me! I’ll show you how easy this was to make in my next blog post. 🙂

I ordered this lake print of Schroon Lake, N.Y., at Fine Art America. This is the place where my husband and I met! The frame for it came off the shelf (50 percent off) at Hobby Lobby.

The shower curtain is from HomeGoods.

All the other accessories are items I already had on hand.

What do you think of Phase 1 of my bathroom redo? Phase 2 is replacing the flooring. The final phase involves changing out the counter top.

Master bathroom redo

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share with you an update on the latest home improvement project going on at our place.

I’ve decided to repaint another room (I know, I know … shocking).

This time it’s the master bathroom.

When we bought our house, this is what the master bathroom looked like.

Yowza! Hot pink walls (and baseboard trim) didn’t really fit my vision of a lakeside retreat.

So I painted it to look like this:

Now, after several years, I’ve tired of the blue/gray color and stripes.

So I decided recently to give the walls a coat of Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige.

Here’s a sneak peek.

I realize there’s not much progress to be seen yet. Here’s a mood board that depicts what I want the space to look like … eventually.

This project will need to be done in phases, as our budget allows. For now, I’m sticking with paint and accessories. Later will come new slate flooring and a new vanity top and sinks.

Have you started any spring renovation projects around your house? I’d love to hear about them.
