I painted the dining room … again
Hello friends! I am so excited for Thanksgiving. It’s such a blessed time of year, to be sure. We’re hosting at our house this year, which means my perfectionist tendencies have kicked into overdrive. I’m still a work in progress on that front, but sometimes I do succumb to the perfectionist voices in my head. #babysteps
I decided recently, after a dear friend of mine gifted me some beautiful pear art, that I needed to repaint my dining room … again. And it had to happen, like immediately, to accommodate said artwork. Yes, I can visualize you shaking your head just like my dear husband did. But … I do love the new color. It’s Sherwin Williams Keystone Gray, and it is absolutely one of my new favorite colors.
Here’s the space with two coats of Keystone Gray:
What do you think of the new color?
And going back through the history of our dining room colors … Here’s the dining room in Sherwin Williams Silvermist, also a lovely color.
And before that … Behr Cinnabark.
I love how a $30 gallon of paint can completely change the look of a space in a day, don’t you?
Below are links* to two few of my tried and true, go-to paint tools … I don’t paint a room without them!
For trim painting and “cutting in” around ceilings and baseboards, I love the Purdy™ Clearcut 2″ brush:
And the 5-in-one painter’s tool:

Thanks for the feedback. Let me check into that. Happy Thanksgiving!
The new color looks great. Grays can be wonderful wall colors. We have Ralph Lauren’s Urban Loft’s Loft on most of our walls and Pantone’s 2012 color of the year Tangerine Tango in one room. I love pairing (pun intended) orange with gray as you have done with your accessories. I hope you have a wonderful time hosting Thanksgiving.
Thanks so much, John. Your color choices sound just gorgeous! I was thinking of incorporating this year’s Pantone Color of the Year into one of my rooms. So fun! Hope you’re doing well and Happy Thanksgiving. 🙂
Love the gray! It’s amazing how color gives every face lift.
Thanks for the kind feedback, Peggy. Happy Thanksgiving!
