Video: How to patch vinyl siding in 15 minutes
I braved new DIY territory Wednesday, attempting to patch a hole in our vinyl siding and recording the process so you could make fun of me learn how to do it, too.
How did the hole get there, you ask? Well, like a lot of other mystery damage around here, no one in our family seems to recall when or how it happened. I sometimes joke that the neighbors must be breaking in when we’re not home and spilling chocolate milk on the carpets, busting off closet doors, and punching holes in our siding … which is surprising because they seem like really nice people. 😉
I’ve been staring at this particular hole for about a year now, so I finally learned how to fix it. Check out the video below for the entertainment project details. I promise, if I can do this, you can do it and save yourself the handyman fee. Spoiler alert: There’s an embarrassing struggle between me, the tools and the siding.
If, by chance, you’re wondering about the DIY-friendly clothing I’m wearing in the video, my outfit is courtesy of Duluth Trading Company. They make fashionable clothing specifically for DIYers that includes some awesome extra features! Check out my flannel shirt jacket here and my cargo pants here.
So there you have it … how to patch vinyl siding in under 15 minutes. Do you have problems with mystery damage showing up around your home?
I’m linking this up to Beneath My Heart.
Perfect timing! I have to replace a piece of vinyl on my home…now I know exactly how to do it. Thanks…Tina
PS I was holding my breath watching you snap the new piece on…I thought for sure you were going to break the carriage light (because that’s what would happen to me).
It is amazing how all this mystery damage stopped when the children grew up and moved out of the house. Have not had that problem since. I have a piece of siding on the side of my house that I need to fix so this video will come I handy. The neighbor boy actually hit his baseball on it of course he will never confess.l
So in your case, now it really is the neighbor. 😉
