Summer bedroom decor ideas

After posting my 5 dos and don’ts of master bedroom decorating, the folks at Hometalk contacted me to see if I would curate a Summer Bedroom Decor collection for their website. Of course, I said yes.

So I spent some time foraging Hometalk and came up with 12 of my favorite summer-inspired bedroom spaces. Spoiler alert: My top picks include killer DIY projects like a $5 custom curtain rod, a few knock-your-socks-off headboards and a creative fix for a blank wall. Check out the whole collection here.

If you haven’t explored Hometalk yet, you are in for a treat. I consider it my one-stop shop for all home-related ideas, photos and answers. The site allows you to ask questions and receive feedback, upload photos of your own home projects (no blog necessary), and also get inspiration by checking out what other people are doing to their homes and gardens. Pretty cool.

Have you done any summer bedroom decorating yet?

Love all the choices you made, very nice. My favorites are the oars for a head board and the wall of shutters, that’s a lot of shutters. They’re all so pretty and open, fresh looking for summer. Great job. How nice to be asked to do that.
About all I’ve done so far is change my curtains. I had some older semi sheer white panels with black panes which I added burlap valances to. Wanted something lighter after the heavy lined drapes for winter. Changed few little things on walls and top of chif-a-robe for summer but I tend to change things often anyway as I get tired of the same for too long. What have you done?
