Fall-inspired master bedroom
When designing our master bedroom, I settled on a look I like to call “Woolrich meets Pottery Barn.” The hubs forbade me from using any floral fabrics or “girly artwork,” so I had the challenge of creating a space that combined both our tastes, which can be very different.
Changing this room up for the fall season is so easy because all the colors of autumn are already integrated.
And, let’s be honest, seasonal decorating is one of the few things that motivate me to clean. I found a Father’s Day card in a pile of papers while I was working on this room yesterday, which was a pretty good indicator of the last time I dusted in here. (Don’t judge me.)
After I finished the much-needed room scrub (it was shameful, people), I simply added a few small fall touches.
A basket of gourds and pine cones …
A red vase filled with twigs …
I changed out a picture frame to a fall-inspired one and added a tiny pumpkin vignette … (In case you’re curious about my philosophy on photos in the master bedroom, I only display pictures of me and the mister – no kidlet pictures allowed. For me, there’s nothing that will kill a romantic mood more than a giant framed photo of your six-year-old staring at you while you’re trying to get busy.)
I layered a soft brown throw on the bed to add some texture and called the room done. Now it’s cozy, comfortable and just our style …
What have you done to decorate your bedrooms for fall?
I’m linking this up to My Repurposed Life and Thrifty Decor Chick.
Love it!
In answer to “What have you done to decorate your bedroom for fall” – nothing. LOL!
Just wanted to tell you, I love your sign.
Thanks. That was a gift from my mother-in-law.
Put the summer clutter away and redecorated our floating wall shelves with some fallish items. Agree with you on the kidlet photos in the bedroom…
Your room looks great. I especially like your comment on kid pics in the bedroom!!
It looks great, and I am so jealous- I love your bed!
