Homemade Valentine candies

Today I’d like to share a recipe for the cutest Valentine’s Day-worthy candies.

The recipe for these colorful, cream cheese candies is super-easy. But please try not to veer too far from the exact measurements um-kay? I did and the whole thing was (almost) a disaster.

These little boogers (I use that term a lot, don’t I?) are scrump-diddly-umptious. Why not make them for your sweetie before the big V-Day?

I’m linking this up to House of Rose and BlogFrog.

Oh, I’m so glad you can use the recipe! These are yummy. My sis chased down the recipe from a lady at our church. We had these candies as kids. Remember to give the little balls a good roll in the granulated sugar before placing them in the molds. It will help them come out of the molds easier when they’re done. Also, if the batter won’t form the little balls, chill it awhile and try again. I had to do this, but it was probably because I didn’t follow the recipe exactly (oops).

I made these with my Great Grandma all the time growing up! No one seems to know what happened to all of her molds though 🙁 Would you happen to know where one can buy the molds? Thanks!

This recipe has been in my family and made for every wedding, christening, and special occasion since I was a little girl. I’m 58. I just got married in October 2011 and they were made for the wedding. I don’t think they lasted very long….everyone loved them!

How easy this looks! I plan on making some as well. What would the recipe be for chocolate mint? Can’t wait to try them! Thank you for sharing!

Hope you enjoy making them, Carol. They are super yummy! Not sure about the chocolate part. Maybe you could add a bit of chocolate extract (if there is such a thing) or some good, old-fashioned chocolate pieces.

How did you get them to look like chocolate in one of your blogs? Maybe they didn’t….could be my eyesight. LOL. Thank you for your reply. Have a blessed day!

Oh, yes! Sorry for the confusion, Carol. In that post, I used melting chocolate wafers and placed them in the same candy mold I used for the cream cheese candies. So the chocolate ones were not actually the cream cheese candies; they just shared the same shape. 🙂

Thank you for clarifying that Susan. So it wasn’t my eyes. LOL.
