How to organize first aid supplies and support veterans

Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for BAND-AID® Brand. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

With a curious toddler in our house, it’s more important than ever right now to make sure medicines and toxic stuff are safely out of reach of our little guy.

One way I keep all our medicines and first aid supplies organized and secure is to store them on the top shelf of the linen closet in our guest bathroom. Supplies are always within my reach, but out of reach of the kidlets.

I picked up the two inexpensive plastic containers at Walmart, I think. I separated the supplies into “wound care” and “medicine.”

To create labels for the containers, I typed them into a Word document on my computer, loaded scrapbook paper in the printer (trimmed to fit the paper tray), and printed them out on that. I cut out each label and stuck it to its container using spray adhesive.

We’ve been blessed to not need to access our first aid items very frequently (knock on wood), although our little guy is in a stage right now where he exaggerates boo boos to get kisses and a bandage. 🙂

The little guy and I are totally loving the OUR VETERAN HEROES™ BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages right now, not only because they are totally adorbs, but also because they support a great cause.

I’ve mentioned a few times on the blog that our family has a long history of military service. In fact, this year for Halloween, our little guy was proud to wear his mini U.S. Air Force uniform and pose for a picture with Great Grammy. 😉

I get a little choked up when I think back on the times my husband and I spent months apart on military assignments. I understand the unique challenges and fears military families face and my thoughts and prayers are always with our deployed servicemen and women.

So when opportunities come up for me to help out in some way or raise awareness for the sacrifices our military members and their families make every day to preserve our freedoms and way of life, I’m on it like Blue Bonnet.

BAND-AID® Brand recently launched OUR VETERAN HEROES™ BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive bandages that feature patriotic and military-inspired designs. BAND-AID® is donating to Team Red, White & Blue 5 percent of the sale price of each box sold.

Team Red, White & Blue is participating in the Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay, going on now through Nov. 9. Right now, runners are carrying an American flag 3,800 miles across the country to raise awareness and funds in support of veteran communities in the United States.

In addition to sponsoring the team and relay, BAND-AID® Brand will donate $1 for each consumer message encouraging relay runners and thanking veterans (up to $25,000).

So here’s how we can all get involved today to help out with this worthwhile cause:

1. Head to your nearest Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid and purchase a box (or 10) of OUR VETERAN HEROES™ BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages.

Remember, 5 percent of the sale price of each box will be donated to support veteran communities in America.

2. Share positive messages on your social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) encouraging Team Red, White & Blue relay runners and thanking veterans. Be sure to include #RunWithGlory in your message.

BAND-AID® Brand will donate $1 for every positive message of support displayed on social channels using #RunWithGlory, up to $25,000.
