#004: How to beat procrastination and become a finisher [Podcast]

Do you, like millions of other well-intentioned people, struggle with waiting until the last minute to do your most important tasks? Do you have a dump-truck load of unfinished projects that mentally beat you down daily?

Confession: I’ve been a chronic procrastinator my entire life. And despite my best efforts, it’s taken me nearly 35 years to figure out what actually works to motivate me to quit the excuses, take care of business, and finish a project before moving on to something else.

Loved the inspirational message. Thank you for your time and putting things in perspective. I am ready to eat that frog.

  2. I need any help I can get with procrastination. After your second podcast, where you first mentioned eating frogs, I was inspired to eat frogs myself. I blogged about it here…

… and found that I was certainly not alone as a procrastinator. That was a month ago. On that blog post I numbered the order in which I was going to complete my next three projects, and I’m yet to blog about them again, because I am determined not to move onto the second project (which is easy) until I have finished the first (which I have been working on for years, off and on). It’s been a slow process, as I keep putting it aside (yes, my procrastination is strong), but I’m sticking to the plan. I’m also finally getting my house in order, which has a lot to do with my new way of thinking after listening to your second podcast.

Now, listening to this podcast has reinforced all of those ideas and my enthusiasm for overcoming procrastination. It was really interesting hearing your story, because you could have been describing me (other than the DIY stuff).

I love your idea of the C factor, although in my mind the C stands for Choices and Consequences.

Thanks so much for sharing. I am really enjoying your podcasts.
