Living room decor inspiration

I’m happy to report the flooring project is coming along without any major problems and, wow, are these hickory floors going to look amazing! So amazing, in fact, that my normal living room decorations will not do the new floor justice. 😉 Actually, for some time I’ve been thinking of adding more color to my living room, updating it with fresh art and accessories that, of course, will need to be cheap, thrifty or, my personal favorite, free.

Right now, I’m in the “collecting inspiration” phase of this project, which is when I do my usual brainstorming to figure out how I can either make stuff, steal it off the side of the road find it at yard sales and auctions, or get it on clearance at one of my favorite discount stores. Today, I thought I’d share some living room decor inspiration I’ve been gathering from Pinterest.

Can you guess which color family I’m thinking of incorporating into our living room? Have you done any updates to your living room decor lately? I’d love for you to leave a comment and share your experience.

I love blues. I’m anxiously awaiting your floor reveal. Part of the fun is getting inspiration from places and other people.

We’re in the long stretch on the floors, Ralinn. I think we’ll be done by the weekend, then it’s cleanup time. Hopefully pics coming next week. Thanks for stopping by.

I’d love to know what color you go with on the walls. I’m re-doing my family room and bedroom, and can’t decide on the color…want something in a light beige or cream color.

Rhonda, for now I think I’m keeping my current wall color, which is Iced Chocolate CI 60 – Valspar (from Lowe’s). It’s in the light beige category. I’m just planning to add color with the art and accessories … keeping it simple for now. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

These are all beautiful, I can see why you are drawn to them. As for stealing from off the side of the road, that’s my favorite place to find new things. 🙂 I’ve not only furnished my home this way but helped to do the same in both my adult son’s homes.
