Master bath redo: Phase 1 done

Hello friends! Today I wanted to show you the progress on the master bathroom renovation project.

This is what our bathroom looked like when we purchased our home in 2010:

Since then, we painted it a silvery-blue color (Sherwin Williams Samovar Silver), which was OK, but I was never in love with it.

Recently, I decided to upgrade the space again, this time giving the bathroom a bit of a lake theme. Here was the mood board I created as a foundation for the look I wanted to create:

Here’s what the space looks like now:

The new color on the walls is Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige. This is a color I’ve used at the left-behind ranch, in my laundry room, and in our church fellowship hall. It’s a wonderful neutral greige (gray+beige) color that works well in rooms with daylight light bulbs or natural light filtering into the space.

The rug is from Overstock.com. The LAKE sign on the wall was DIYed by me! I’ll show you how easy this was to make in my next blog post. 🙂

I ordered this lake print of Schroon Lake, N.Y., at Fine Art America. This is the place where my husband and I met! The frame for it came off the shelf (50 percent off) at Hobby Lobby.

The shower curtain is from HomeGoods.

All the other accessories are items I already had on hand.

What do you think of Phase 1 of my bathroom redo? Phase 2 is replacing the flooring. The final phase involves changing out the counter top.

Looks fantastic! I agree that the new color gives it more of the “lake” vibe! Gorgeous, as usual!

Looks like it’s going to be quite lovely when you are done….I just have one question about the rug ( which I love!)….with all the germs and dampness in a bathroom, I usually like having something on the floor that handles the dampness, can be laundered and can easily be dried….how does that work with the rug?

Looks fabulous! It also looks like you might have painted the bathroom cabinet/vanity? If so, I would love to hear about the process and products that you used. Thanks for your blog….I love seeing your work!

I was wondering the same thing? I would like to re-paint or stain my vanity and have already taken off the doors and the pulled out the drawers and sanded them. I’m not sure if staining or painting would be better? Let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks!!

I love seeing your projects…..they always look great! I see that the color of your vanity changed in the pictures. I’m wondering if you painted it and if so, I would love to hear about the process and the products that you used.

[…] first is this LAKE sign I added to my bathroom as part of the master bathroom renovation. This project cost me zero dollars because I already had all the supplies on hand. […]
